Job Description

• Study fashion trends and anticipate designs that will appeal to consumers
• Decide on a theme for a collection
• Visit manufacturers or trade shows to get fabric samples
• Select fabrics, embellishments, colors, or style for each garment or accessory
• Work with other designers or team members to create a prototype design
• Present design ideas to the creative director or showcase them in fashion or trade shows
• Perform extensive market trend research to understand competitive opportunities
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for material procurement and make sure that samples are received on time
• Handle draping and pattern making activities
• Make sketches of proposed designs

computer knowledge is Must
• A good eye for colour, texture and shape
• Technical skills like pattern cutting and sewing
• The ability to spot and develop trends
• Drawing skills
